We are pleased to announce that the Hokkaido District Transport Bureau have confirmed that Niseko's application to become a Japanese designated sightseeing area has been approved.

Mayor Katayama of Niseko town represented the project council and received a certification at the Hokkaido District Transport Bureau on Monday, July 7.

Kanko-ken (sightseeing areas) are designated Tourism areas being organised by the Japan Tourism Agency and extra-ministerial bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism of Japan. The Kanko-Ken initiative is designed to boost inbound tourism and offer approved areas access to funding and other promotional opportunities
