Autumn in Japan is a beautiful time of year when the temperature starts to cool and mother nature puts on a dazzling show. A spectacular display of colours can be seen with the autumn foliage out on display right across Hokkaido. The contrast between the sky and the golden, orange and pops of red leaves is breathtaking. While there's many hot spots throughout Japan to view the stunning autumn leaves, Niseko is a wonderful place to experience autumn sight-seeing!

Fukidashi Park, Shinsen Marsh and the picturesque Panorama Line from Niseko to Iwanai are some the best places to view the autumn foilage.
With much of Hokkaido's forests featuring hardwood such as birch, the leaves turn a magnificent golden hue in autumn, making sight-seeing uniquely special in Hokkaido compared to the island of Honshu, where leaves become mostly red with trees like the maple. Among the yellow autumn leaves in Niseko, there are red fiery To Potsunpotsun, creating a suprising pop of colour when seen from a long distance.
The picture-perfect autumn leaves are best enjoyed from October to early November, so with winter fast approaching, take a moment to enjoy these last moments of autumn!
