Skiers and boarders enjoyed a sensational start to the week in Niseko today, after heavy overnight snow and cold temperatures combined to bring on some classic dry Niseko powder. The snow is set to continue through to late in the week, which means Christmas day could be one to remember.

The conditions were a major improvement on Sunday's intermittent rain and heavy winds, which caused a number of the higher lifts to be kept on wind hold for the day.

To stay up-to-date on snow conditions for the week, we recommend checking out 360niseko's daily snow report.

Celebrating Christmas in Niseko

Look out for Santa on the slopes this Christmas! He is expected to make an appearance in Grand Hirafu on December 24 and 25 (Wednesday and Thursday this week). He may or may not be handing out gifts!

Also, make sure you don't miss the fireworks display on Christmas Eve, which will take place on the run in front of the Alpen Hotel. If last year's event was anything to go by, you're in for a real treat!
