We're definitely riding another boom cycle here in Niseko, with several buildings going up and projects bubbling away. Interest in the resort is at an all-time high and with good reason. Niseko was the only resort to pick up every single country-level award in the World Ski Awards in 2014 and repeated the trick in 2015.
Of the many changes taking place in Niseko right now, two of the most exciting are the development of Skye Niseko and Aya Niseko – both ski-in ski-out hotels that will help to fuel the rise in 5 star service in the village first brought around by The Vale and more recently Ki Niseko. Here's what you can expect.
Skye Niseko went on sale last week after receiving their final approvals. We hear rumours that over 20 apartments have already been reserved in this luxury ski-in ski-out development, with investors falling over themselves to get a piece of the stunning looking property based at the top of the resort. If the images below are anything to go by, the top of the village is going to look a whole lot better in a couple of years!
With ski-in ski-out access from the unique elevator out of the hotel's ski valet, guests can ski down to the King Pair lift to start their day. The property also boasts what claims to be the largest restaurant and bar in Niseko-Hirafu, onsens, spa, massage, kids' room and retail space.
Bye bye car park, hello new 330 bed ski-in ski-out condo hotel! AYA Niseko is being built right underneath the Ace Family Pair Lift and will feature a range of apartments from studios all the way up to penthouses. Some of the views will be fantastic, looking right up the slopes.AYA Niseko foundations are complete, with construction recommencing next April. The condo hotel opens its doors in time for Christmas 2016, and Niseko Real Estate reports sales are strong, with new owners already securing their dates for next winter. Including an art gallery featuring young Hokkaido talent, it will be exciting to see what AYA brings.
We've also heard that GoSnow will have a kids' ski club on the ground floor as well as an extra 50 instructors to start lessons from the Family run and that the resort is looking at starting work on renewing the Family Pair lift in the next year or two as well!
