Niseko Grand Hirafu ski resort is now accepting volunteers for their 39th New Year's Eve torchlight skiing event! The event is the biggest of its kind in Japan, with over 100 participants taking part each year.

In addition to receiving a certificate of participation, skiers and boards will also receive entry into the Toshi-dama (New Year’s Gift) Prize Draw.

The event is open to anyone who meets the organizers' participation requirements. Skiers must be able to make snowplough turns without using poles, and snowboarders must be able to turn and adjust their speed accurately.

For event details and full eligibility requirements, please visit The official Niseko tourism site.
