Niseko will have accumulated over 560cm of snow well before tonight’s midnight fireworks go off, according to daily snow reports logged by 360niseko.com.

After a slight delay in getting the resort open, skiers and boarders were treated to a deep, dry, powder-filled December.

Snow accumulation for the month topped 2013 by almost a metre and a half, with only 3 days where the resort was open and no snow recorded. There were daily accumulations of over 20cm on an incredible 14 separate occasions, including 3 days with a snowfall of over 40cm.

Let's hope that 2015 brings more of the same!
