Sometimes, a soft purr is enough to pull the strings of our hearts. A struggle for many is the guilt of leaving behind pets at home when travelling for extended periods of time. Especially coming to Niseko, it is not hard to imagine how your dog would love this place. Here are the top four reasons why Niseko is the perfect pet paradise during the summer.

Endless Green Fields

Arishima Nature in Niseko

With warmer weather and spring fast approaching, the scenery in Niseko is slowly turning from white to green. Dogs will love to run around the endless open fields and in the Japanese forest to chase wild snow rabbits or red squirrels.

Mountain Trails

Mt Shirakaba Hike Trail.

With many mountains shaping the geography of Niseko, there are many hikes and trails at different levels which a few moments away from the centre of town. Some of these trails are shorter and easier while others can be more challenging. A good opportunity for your pet to stretch their legs and get away from their normal morning walk.

Crystal Clear Rivers

The Shiribetsu River flows through Niseko with a fantastic view of the forestry and Mt Yotei. Not to mention it is perfect for a few splashes and dogs will love (and be confused) watching the rainbow trout or red spotted masu salmon swim freely in the river.
